I have always loved sunshine and being outside, which is why you can find me with my kids at the community pool nearly every day during the summer. However, we have never done much to establish an outdoor space to be able to enjoy the sunshine from our home – until now!
In the past, we always just bought super cheap patio table sets that allowed us the occasional meal outside – though one simple bee was all it ever took to completely derail outdoor dining efforts when children are involved – and it has never been a comfortable place where we actually wanted to hang out.
Also, we have a very tiny yard and a not-so-big deck, so I knew we were limited in what we could create outdoors, but I also realized that even in a small space, we could do SOMETHING to make it better.
A trip to an At Home store inspired me in just what I needed – COMFORTABLE outdoor seating.
Sitting around some rusty old table on a hard chair has just never enticed us, but an outdoor couch could be a game changer!
However, as much as I love At Home, I felt their prices were still a little high, so Amazon came to my rescue!
I found many affordable options on Amazon, ultimately deciding on this couch with these pillow covers since I didn’t love the orange pillows that came with the couch but still wanted to make use of them. We also plan to get a fire table soon, so I loved that this had the ottoman (rather than just the coffee table like most others), so it can eventually serve as additional seating around the fire.
I chose this for the extremely low overall price, though there are certainly higher-quality options for those with a little more money to spend. I wanted to make a minimal investment to have something useful for now – not something that will last a lifetime.
However, even at such a cheap price, I have to say that I am thrilled! We have only had this couch for a couple of weeks, and already we have spent a ton of time just hanging out together as family in the beautiful sunshine.
For a total of $580 (couch, rug, and new pillow covers), our deck has been completely transformed into something comfortable where we actually WANT to spend time.

**NOTE: I do not actually include my couch in the 10 best list due to the fact that it has lower than a 4-star rating, which is the minimum criteria I look for before widely recommending a product. That being said, I think my couch had lower ratings partly because of how difficult it was to put together, and this is likely the case for all of the couches on this list. However, the main complaint I have about my couch is that the cushions seem to absorb water more than you would expect for outdoor cushions. I figured I could always cover them or replace them if needed in the future, but I could certainly see this being an issue for many buyers.
