Break the Silence
In the silence around me there is a voice that clearly speaks unto my heart and mind,
I walk alone in this world, and most do not notice and very few seem to see.
I rise up and I go through my days, and there is silence around me but no silence within,
For there is a voice of love that calls unto me to remind me that I belong to someone.
It is a voice of love, and yes, it is a voice of hope that lets me know I am not alone,
A voice of comfort, a voice of strength that tells me I will never be forsaken.
In the silence of my aloneness there is a quiet voice that speaks words unto my soul,
In the Lord I shall remain, for in the Lord I am not alone in the silence of this world.
In the silence around me I see laughter and joy in others and my heart yearns,
My heart yearns and my spirit mourns, for in the silence of life there are needs.
The need for human kindness, the need for human touch, but I cling to a promise,
A promise that all things work together for good to them who love the Lord, so I wait.
In the silence, I yearn and I long for someone to break the silence of my life,
Someone to hold me, someone to touch, someone to love, someone to speak my name.
I love the Lord, and his love flows, so I seek others to love, others to touch,
In the stillness of my silence the voice of the Lord speaks, “Break the silence my child.”
I awake with realization that being alone has been my choice, for I have a voice,
I can break the silence of my life, I can reach out my hands and I can speak unto others.
So many of us walk in silence with yearning hearts without using our own voice,
Break the silence, for you have a voice, share your heart and share your love.
