Plan Your Days, But Don’t Miss the Moments
“I have heard it said that, ‘timing is everything,’ and in some circumstances this may well be true, but in so many areas of our lives the perfect and precise moment is a mystery, for moments are past, present, and future but can only be carried out in the now. I can plan my days and my weeks, but the execution of my plans can only be done in the moment.
We plan ahead and contemplate the best time to do certain things, and there is wisdom in planning for some things are best done at certain times. There are seasons in nature as there are seasons in life. The best time to plant a crop is not the dead of winter, and the best time to feed and bathe the kids is not ten minutes before your wife gets home. Moments can be planned, but other moments become the power of now and take priority over the planned moments and all is changed.
This day is a good day, for this day still has future moments to live and to enjoy. Right now, at this moment, is a good time to bring an unexpected and maybe a life changing moment to another. This moment is a good time to express your love for your spouse, your children, your parents, your brothers or sisters or your friends. Some of the best moments of my life interrupted my planned moments, and in some of those unexpected moments my life was changed forever.
This day is a good day to honor the Lord, and this moment is an excellent moment to express our love and gratefulness unto Him. I plan my days, and I have goals and a schedule, but I have learned to live in the moment, for some moments do not come our way again, and some of the unplanned moments truly are the greatest moments of all.”
